Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the murder of Tony Legrasso, a former mafia hit man who is found dead in Central Park with six bullets in the chest. It takes the police some time before they identify him however as he had been living in another state under the federal witness protection program. He was continuing to cooperate and was scheduled to give evidence against top mob boss Alberto Napoli who ordered one of his men, Johnny DeMayo, to eliminate him. DeMayo is cooperating with the DAs office but Napoli's lawyer claims his client is mentally incompetent as a result of a recent stroke. McCoy thinks Napoli's illness is all an act. The company was run by Spiegel's wife Kate and her sister Laura after their father Seymour Bergreen retired. The investigation leads them to designer Paul Medici who it turns out was having an affair with Kate. He has a solid alibi for the time of the killing however. They subsequently learn the victim had consulted a criminal attorney and that Laura Bergreen may have been using employee pension funds to pay off the store's debts. When they locate the murder weapon, they find the gun was owned by Kate and had Laura's fingerprints on the barrel. Both sisters are arrested but there is no evidence of a conspiracy and little specific information to point the finger at one or the other. Written by garykmcd

She was well liked by everyone in the dorm but she may have had a cyber-stalker. Meril Grupp's stories on the Internet are gruesome and when they find Allison's panties in his room, they are sure they have their man. When they catch Allison's roommate Megan Maslin in a lie, they decide to re-question her and arrive in time to prevent her suicide, having taken an overdose of pills. Dennis Burnett tells everyone to stay out of the investigation but Detectives Lenny Briscoe and Mike Logan can't help but look into the case. They find the second boy, Zack Rowland, and McCoy for his part takes the case to a grand jury who refuse to indict Van Buren. She's not happy however because a non-indictment isn't the same as being found innocent. When Logan and Briscoe find the gun Zack used, they have to find a way to prove he had it in his possession.
